About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Analyse training, safety and operational data to identify trends, risks, opportunities and actionable insights
Collect, validate and maintain data from multiple sources
Develop and enhance dashboards, reports and visualisations supporting senior decision-making and operational readiness
Identify efficiency improvements through automation, standardisation and improved reporting processes
Work with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into meaningful analytical outputs
Act as a subject matter expert on analytics tools, reporting best practice and data-driven decision-making
Mentor colleagues and promote high standards of analytical quality, consistency and continuous improvement
Present findings through reports, presentations and briefings
Ensure data security, confidentiality and compliance

Requirements

What you’ll need

Appropriate qualification in a data-related subject (such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Business Analytics) or equivalent practical experience
Proven experience in a Senior Data Analyst, Business Intelligence or data-focused analytical role within a complex organisation
Strong skills in collecting, cleansing, validating, analysing and interpreting data from multiple sources
Advanced experience creating dashboards, reports and visualisations using Power BI and Excel
Good understanding of data modelling, databases, data architecture and data quality management principles
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, explain performance and provide evidence-based recommendations
Knowledge of AI-enabled analytics, data pipelines and the data requirements needed to support AI solutions
Experience mentoring colleagues and confidently communicating technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at BPSS level
