About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • To work with the Senior Pensions Technicians and a Lead Pensions Technician to work on complex case work and pensions data projects, identifying time scales, deliverables, quality, through to sign off and driving the planning process through effective action planning
  • To be responsible for the accuracy and quality of data and projects.
  • Work with colleagues and stakeholders in the delivery of cyclical activities and projects, identifying time scales, deliverables, quality, through to sign off, driving the planning process through effective action planning
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of processes, procedures and products
  • Build, maintain and enhance individual and team competence in order to improve delivery
  • Regularly review the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and controls and make suggestions to continually enhance service delivery, improve processes and reduce potential complaints and business risks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Essential DB pensions experience including building calculations and complex case work
  • Excel - Demonstrate the ability to use filters, sorting, pivot tables (rows, columns, grouping, filters and totalling).
  • Excel – Can use formulas including lookups, IF and nested IF statements, date calculations and formatting of cells to specific guidelines.
  • Excel - Can import data/text files and use data validation
  • Project management skills
  • Desirable Public Sector pensions experience
