About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Establish standards for test documentation and technical reporting
- Review test directives, methods of test, data packages, letter reports, and technical reports
- Present test strategy, objectives, and procedures at Safety Review Boards and Test Approval Boards
- Manage and perform engineering duties for developmental, engineering evaluation, operational evaluation, and joint test and evaluation programs involving air-to-air and air-to-surface weapons
- Develop test planning documentation for emerging weapon programs
- Provide technical and administrative support to the Flight Chief
- Represent the Squadron and AFTC at conferences and with commands, headquarters, OSD, DHS, foreign nations, and industry on test and evaluation matters
- Forecast test assets and range requirements
- Integrate with program offices and prime contractors
- Brief and debrief aircrew on mission execution and requirements
- Act as Test Conductor during test mission execution
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 3–10 years of relevant experience
- Years of experience may be substituted for the education requirement, per customer approval
- Active Secret clearance with eligibility for Special Access Programs
- Ability to communicate clearly with multiple stakeholders and resolve competing test resource requirements
- Self-motivated and proactive in learning systems under test and completing assigned tasks
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of an integrated team
- Strong communication skills and some technical writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Working knowledge of airborne weapon systems
- Knowledge of USAF, USN, or Marine fighter/bomber tactics and airborne weapons employment
- Willingness to travel up to 10%
- Desired: DoD weapons acquisition process experience
- Desired: Flight test or aircrew flight experience with military fighter/bomber aircraft
- Desired: Test Conductor experience with military systems
- Desired: Experience with USAF and USN fighter/bomber/attack test, operations, and weapon systems
- Desired: Test Pilot School or Fighter Weapons School (Top Gun) graduate
