About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide highly technical expertise and guidance in solving complex engineering problems for C-130 Special Mission Aircraft undergoing heavy depot level maintenance and modification
  • Perform in all phases of hardware design, development, integration/implementation, and analysis
  • Plan and conduct engineering feasibility studies for the design improvement modifications and implementation of advanced technologies
  • Develop standards and guidelines for tasks being performed including the generation of Tailored Airworthiness Certification Criteria (TACC) or the modification of such criteria in the Modified Airworthiness Certification Criteria (MACC)
  • Develop structural and corrosion repairs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must have a minimum of two years’ experience in the design, development, and integration of aircraft hydraulic/ pneumatic/ mechanical systems
  • Two years of overseeing design and development of engineering projects
  • Experience in accomplishing airworthiness, loads, stress, and weight and balance analysis in support of systems integration
  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Mech Engineering (ABET highly desired) and ten years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD or other USG ISR/SOF Organizations
  • OR Bachelor’s degree in Mech Engineering (ABET highly desired) and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, five of which must be in the DoD or other USG ISR/SOF Organizations
  • This position frequently requires ascending/descending aircraft crew doors, aircraft stands - ascending/descending flight deck ladders, work stand ladders and common ladders, entering, exiting, working and crawling in confined spaces
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
