About the role
- Build and maintain frontend components for internal tools that visualise product insights
- Collaborate across specialties to understand and integrate platform metrics and requirements
- Partner with product teams to represent their features accurately and usefully in the platform
- Lead workshops and working sessions with stakeholders to refine tool and project requirements
- Shape the future of how Canva measures and improves product quality at scale
- Mentor other frontend developers in the group
- Work across the group to uplift frontend engineering practices, sharing patterns, contributing to design systems, and occasionally collaborating beyond team boundaries to drive consistency and quality
Requirements
- Solid frontend engineering experience, especially in TypeScript, React, and MobX
- Strong product thinking with an eye for building tools that make complex data accessible and actionable
- Experience building reusable UI components and working within design systems
- Proven ability to gather, shape, and implement requirements through collaborative conversations and workshops
- A self-starter mindset — you actively seek out problems, propose solutions, and thrive in environments where you're empowered to take ownership
- Comfortable working closely with backend engineers, designers, and product managers to co-create end-to-end solutions and rally around objectives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a bias toward clarity and simplicity
