About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the monthly financial reporting cycle including preparation of working papers, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Manage sales tax compliance across Canada and the United States.
  • Assist in preparing financial reporting packages and supporting files for quarterly financial review calls.
  • Aid in the annual budgeting process and support ongoing forecasting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with ASPE and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all employee-shareholders regarding investment inquiries.
  • Prepare and distribute regular financial reports, performance summaries, and investment updates to employee-shareholders.
  • Organize and lead shareholder meetings, presentations, and Q&A sessions in both English and French.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPA designation (CPA, CA / CPA, CGA / CPA, CMA) is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in shareholder relations, senior accounting or a similar combined role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing shareholder communications within a private organization.
  • Proven track record in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance in a Canadian or US business context.
  • Full professional proficiency in both English and French (written and spoken) is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian GAAP / ASPE and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, or similar ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
