About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Install, configure and virtualize server hardware
- Install/configure operating systems, software, network settings
- Write deployment scripts and manifests to deploy hardware and platforms consistently
- Develop and implement new solutions based on new customer requirements
- Pro-actively monitor system performance and ensure the reliability and availability of IT services
- Tune-up OS and deploy software updates and patches and modify deployment scripts and manifests to ensure configuration complies with security requirements
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
- Respond to system outages and perform necessary repairs
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls
- Provide technical support and training to users
- Implement and maintain backup solutions, including RDBMS replication, recovery and system failover
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans
- Configure and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls
- Ensure network security and manage VPNs
- Monitor and enforce security policies
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Document system configurations, procedures, and changes
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets and inventory
- Work with other CBN and customer IT staff and departments to support various projects and initiatives
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand and address their IT needs
- Ensure compliance with CBN and customer IT policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Fluency in English (speak, read, write)
- Legally eligible to work in USA
- Able to work outside of standard business hours as required
- Able to travel approx. 2-4 weeks/year on average
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or related field) or equivalent combination of relevant education and years of work experience
- Any CISSP, LPIC, ITIL, VCP, MCSE, OCA/OCP 12c certifications are assets, but not required
- Knowledge of Active Directory
- Knowledge of Virtualization
- Basic IT Security principles and protocols (TLS, encryption at rest)
- ITIL processes
- IT auditing process (asset)
- 5+ years of system administration experience
