About the role

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory filings, and accurate calculations for Canadian registered and non-registered post-retirement plans
  • Oversee preparation and review of balance sheet and expense entries for Canadian and global post-retirement plans
  • Monitor legislative changes, maintain compliance of plan documents
  • Prepare and deliver materials for senior management pension committees
  • Coordinate funding and accounting valuations with external actuaries and internal stakeholders
  • Act as a subject matter expert for internal HR teams
  • Lead and develop a team of pension professionals

Requirements

  • University degree required
  • Associate of Canadian Institute of Actuaries (required)
  • Fellow of Canadian Institute of Actuaries or CEBS designation (asset)
  • 6–9 years of experience in Canadian defined benefit pension plan management
  • Expertise in pension accounting and regulatory compliance
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Clear and confident communication skills
  • Proven leadership ability.
