About the role
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory filings, and accurate calculations for Canadian registered and non-registered post-retirement plans
- Oversee preparation and review of balance sheet and expense entries for Canadian and global post-retirement plans
- Monitor legislative changes, maintain compliance of plan documents
- Prepare and deliver materials for senior management pension committees
- Coordinate funding and accounting valuations with external actuaries and internal stakeholders
- Act as a subject matter expert for internal HR teams
- Lead and develop a team of pension professionals
Requirements
- University degree required
- Associate of Canadian Institute of Actuaries (required)
- Fellow of Canadian Institute of Actuaries or CEBS designation (asset)
- 6–9 years of experience in Canadian defined benefit pension plan management
- Expertise in pension accounting and regulatory compliance
- Strong project and time management skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Clear and confident communication skills
- Proven leadership ability.
