About the role
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with consultants
- Completion of all account management tasks, especially on financials
- Evaluate risk and eligibility for employee benefit prospects
- Preparation and presentation of proposals to consultants or potential clients
- Preparation of annual renewal and financial reports
- Analyze and interpret data to prepare reports
- Prepare and analyze renewals and participate in their negotiation
- Identify amendment growth opportunities, prepare and execute ambitious and profitable pricing strategies
- Meetings to provide product, rate positioning, and technical expertise
- Propose and implement changes to existing procedures
- Actively promote marketing initiatives and sales ideas to build consultant interest and penetrate new markets
- Ability to solve unusual or sensitive requests, financial problems for which no guidelines are available or to act in cases where a decision must be made quickly
- Lead and grow a consultant and client customer base, maintaining a balance between sales and pricing requirements
- Liaise with the head office underwriting, claims, marketing and distribution departments to assist with your goal of driving premium revenue
- Collaborate with a local service and administrative team to execute the team’s business plan
Requirements
- Bilingualism (fluent in French and English) required
- University degree, preferably in commerce, finance, business administration or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Minimum 5 years experience in the employee benefit industry
- Demonstrated success in sales or the marketing of employee benefit products is an asset
- Work ethic that demonstrates you are results-oriented, a motivated self-starter, career-focused, dynamic with strong organizational skills
- Skilled at relationship building
- Good communicator with the ability to present in French and in English, train and transfer knowledge to a variety of audiences
- Analytical and decision making skills
- Excellent teamwork, negotiation and communication skills
