About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee all aspects of property maintenance, ensuring safety, functionality, and aesthetic quality
- Lead a team of maintenance professionals, managing compliance and preventive maintenance programs
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings, units, common areas, and grounds
- Maintain all mechanical systems and equipment in good working order
- Respond to emergencies and participate in emergency preparedness planning
- Coordinate and oversee all vendor and contractor work; obtain bids and negotiate pricing when needed
- Accurately complete and maintain work order documentation and inspection reports
- Support the General Manager in maintaining occupancy above 99% and collections above 99%
Requirements
What you’ll need- EPA 608 / HVAC Certification required
- Proficient in basic building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
- Experience with Make Ready processes and unit turnover
- Familiar with building automation systems and life safety systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience using property management platforms, preferably Entrata
- Working knowledge of Fair Housing Laws, EEO Laws, and LIHTC and market-rate housing programs
- 3–5 years of experience managing building systems in a student housing or multifamily setting
- 3 years of supervisory experience in a maintenance leadership role
- At least 2 years of experience managing building automation and safety systems
