About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee all aspects of property maintenance, ensuring safety, functionality, and aesthetic quality
  • Lead a team of maintenance professionals, managing compliance and preventive maintenance programs
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings, units, common areas, and grounds
  • Maintain all mechanical systems and equipment in good working order
  • Respond to emergencies and participate in emergency preparedness planning
  • Coordinate and oversee all vendor and contractor work; obtain bids and negotiate pricing when needed
  • Accurately complete and maintain work order documentation and inspection reports
  • Support the General Manager in maintaining occupancy above 99% and collections above 99%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • EPA 608 / HVAC Certification required
  • Proficient in basic building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
  • Experience with Make Ready processes and unit turnover
  • Familiar with building automation systems and life safety systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience using property management platforms, preferably Entrata
  • Working knowledge of Fair Housing Laws, EEO Laws, and LIHTC and market-rate housing programs
  • 3–5 years of experience managing building systems in a student housing or multifamily setting
  • 3 years of supervisory experience in a maintenance leadership role
  • At least 2 years of experience managing building automation and safety systems
