About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Field Safety Director and Vice President of Safety in the implementation and oversight of safety, health, and environmental programs across an assigned region.
- Collaborate with field and operations leadership to promote Camping World’s “True North” safety culture.
- Maintain regulatory compliance, mitigate operational risk, and ensure timely completion of corrective actions through field engagement, coaching, inspections, training, and incident follow-up.
- Implement and support regional safety programs, standards, and initiatives to ensure consistent application across assigned dealerships and service centers.
- Provide guidance to local leaders and Team Members to strengthen safe work practices, hazard recognition, accountability, and Camping World’s “True North” safety culture.
- Conduct field visits, workplace observations, safety inspections, and corrective action follow-up to verify compliance and drive continuous improvement.
- Support compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, fire code, and company safety requirements across service, retail, parts, delivery, and lot operations.
- Reinforce required controls for RV roof work, fall protection, forklift operations, lockout/tagout, battery charging, chemical handling, and hot work.
- Support timely incident response, investigation, root cause analysis, corrective action development, and communication of relevant trends.
- Coordinate with Human Resources, Risk Management, claims partners, and operations leaders to support workers’ compensation follow-up, return-to-work coordination, and injury prevention.
- Deliver and reinforce safety training for field leaders and Team Members, including support for new acquisitions, new leaders, and locations requiring additional safety support.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, Risk Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of five years of progressive safety experience, including multi-site field support, inspections, incident investigations, corrective action management, and safety coaching.
- Experience in RV, automotive, equipment rental, construction, industrial, logistics, or other multi-site field operations environments preferred.
- ASP, CSP, CHST, OHST, or other relevant safety certification preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships, coach effectively, and influence field and operations leadership in support of safety objectives.
- Ability to travel up to 50% by vehicle and commercial flight, including short notice travel for serious incidents and field support needs.
