About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborates with the Design Director and Editor-in-Chief to define and maintain visual and brand-design standards
  • Assist in identifying, hiring and managing photographers, videographers, and other visual artists
  • Grow and maintain a network of leading contributors in visual media
  • Assist in planning and execution for on-location photo and video shoots
  • Lead Wildsam book design
  • Collaborate with the Digital Editor on as-needed digital publication design
  • Provide design support to marketing and sales outreach efforts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years experience in art direction, graphic design, photo editing or production
  • Photo/video production coordination and creative-direction experience
  • Experience with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and other Adobe Creative Cloud software
  • Experience with book and magazine page design, including photo layout and typesetting
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially related to photography assignment and production details
