About the role

Conceive, design, build, and launch new user-facing features
Lead development of new features and improvements for Cambly’s Student and Tutor experience
Optimize performance and ensure a smooth, high-quality teaching & learning experience
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to build product experiences
Maintain a high code quality product through code reviews, testing, and best practices
Deliver high-performance features while maintaining a robust, scalable codebase
Own frontend and backend platform work and technical ownership
Work on projects like tutor discovery, AI-generated classroom content, and post-lesson activities

3+ years of full-stack development experience
2+ years of experience with React
Experience with NextJS, React, and TypeScript
Experience working with NoSQL databases like MongoDB
Experience with AWS and Flask backend technologies
Experience building and maintaining production systems using tools like Lighthouse, Sentry, New Relic
Good understanding of frontend technologies, patterns, and best practices
Good understanding of backend systems, patterns, and best practices
Passion for building products that have a real impact on users
Ability to commute to San Francisco 3x a week / reside in San Francisco Bay Area (hybrid)
