About the role
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex government contracts, subcontracts, and amendments
- Oversee the full contract lifecycle including implementation, monitoring, amendments, and closeout
- Maintain a comprehensive repository of contract records
- Ensure strict adherence to FAR, CFR, and other relevant regulations and proactively identify and mitigate risks
- Provide subject matter expertise on regulatory requirements, including California-specific contracting processes and compliance obligations
- Partner with program, finance, and legal teams to ensure contract terms support programmatic and financial objectives
- Act as the primary point of contact for government agencies and resolve contract-related issues
- Evaluate existing contract management practices and recommend process improvements
- Stay informed of changes in contracting regulations and conduct periodic audits to verify compliance
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating government contracts and subcontracts
- 3 to 5 years of experience in government contract and subcontract management
- Expertise in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)
- Experience with California state agency contracts preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, contract management, law, or related field (advanced degree or certifications such as CPCM, CFCM preferred)
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills
- Proven ability to manage complex agreements
