Provide technical support for customer assistance, customer quotations, internal and external training, complaint investigation, failure analysis, and research and development activities
Analyze application needs and propose, alter, or define lining designs and installation methods
Execute product promotions and marketing strategies as a cross-functional team member
Prepare for and attend industry tradeshows
Perform market and product portfolio analysis to identify emerging business opportunities
Provide strategic customer sales and technical support
Assist with product rationalization, portfolio modifications, and shape standardization
Contribute to product pricing and positioning
Work with the engineering team to solve customer problems and provide solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

B.S. degree in Engineering, such as Ceramics, Metallurgy, Chemical, Materials Science, or a related field
Knowledge of industry/customer applications and general refractory science
Marketing and technical skills
Knowledge of product lines, product characteristics, construction, installations, customer applications, estimating, quality control, manufacturing, and sales skills helpful
Proficient knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and business problem-solving skills
Project management skills and ability to coordinate multi-department projects
2–4 years of experience in technical, Research and Development, or commercial refractory roles
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds less than 1/3 of the time
Approximately 35% travel, primarily domestic, with occasional international travel
