About the role
- Lead and steer all mechanical commissioning and testing activities for contracted mechanical systems at client sites
- Act as technical expert and advisor to clients on feasibility, practicality, cost and resource impacts
- Fulfil role of on-site technical lead and coordinate information from equipment vendors, clients, contractors and site owners
- Participate in meetings with clients, consultants and contractors to agree commissioning deliverables and scope
- Ensure relevant certification and documentation from contractors and vendors are provided and approved for commissioning documentation
- Review and provide opinion on design documents (BoD, OPR, mechanical drawings, schematics, diagrams, installation drawings)
- Support engineering and commissioning deliverables development with team members
- Develop, review and obtain approval for test scripts, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), FATs and FWTs
- Ensure delivery quality aligns with client testing and performance requirements
- Supervise mechanical commissioning activities according to client timelines and schedules
- Track task completion, provide regular status updates and technical reports to Project Manager and client
- Identify and communicate issues, risks, opportunities and scope variations and collaborate on mitigation or contingency plans
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of OSHA (or equivalent) safety requirements
- Good written and spoken communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics and mechanical P&IDs
- Knowledge of mission critical design concepts
- Knowledge of Mechanical Distribution Switchgear, Substations, Uninterruptable Power Sources (UPS), Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Batteries, Emergency Diesel Generators & Load Banks
- Knowledge of power quality analysis
- Willingness to travel extensively (75%)
