About the role
- Develop, implement, and oversee EHS policies, programs, and initiatives for regional manufacturing operations
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Provide guidance and support to site EHS teams and plant leadership on regulatory requirements, best practices, and corrective actions
- Conduct site audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards, unsafe behaviors, and environmental risks
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, supervisors, and managers
- Monitor and report key EHS performance indicators, identifying trends and driving continuous improvement
- Partner with Operations and HR to promote employee engagement in safety programs and build a strong safety culture
- Manage environmental compliance programs including waste management, air/water permits, hazardous materials handling, and sustainability initiatives
- Support emergency response planning, drills, and crisis management activities across sites
- Mentor, coach, and develop site-level EHS professionals, ensuring consistent application of standards and practices
- Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate EHS considerations into production planning, engineering, and capital projects
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive EHS experience, including multi-site or regional management in a manufacturing environment
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other relevant regulatory requirements
- Proven ability to lead and influence at all organizational levels
- Strong skills in risk assessment, incident investigation, and EHS data analysis
- Experience with EHS management systems and reporting tools
- Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills
- CSP, CIH, CHMM, or other relevant certification preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
