About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review requirements, user stories, and design documentation to understand expected system behavior.
- Develop and execute manual test cases, test scenarios, and test plans.
- Perform functional, system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Identify, document, and track defects using issue tracking tools.
- Validate defect fixes and ensure issues are resolved prior to release.
- Collaborate with developers, QA teams, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
- Ensure applications meet usability and business requirements.
- Maintain clear documentation of testing activities, results, and defects.
- Support continuous improvement of testing processes and quality standards.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of experience in manual testing, quality assurance, or software testing.
- Understanding of software testing methodologies and lifecycle (SDLC/STLC).
- Experience writing and executing test cases and test plans.
- Experience using defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience supporting federal government contracts or regulated environments (preferred).
- Familiarity with Agile tools such as Jira or Confluence (preferred).
- Basic understanding of APIs and backend systems (preferred).
- Exposure to test automation concepts or tools (preferred).
- Experience with usability or accessibility testing (preferred).
- Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
