About the role
- Collaborate with functional leads, subject matter experts, engineers, and developers to gather technical details of system designs and functional capabilities
- Conduct independent research on industry standards and product specifications, to include manufacturing verbiage and standards, trailer specifications, etc.
- Create user manuals, instruction guides, FAQs, whitepapers, design specification, technical reports and the like
- Ensure organization and structure of content follows both customer template structures and program needs
- Develop templates and documentation frameworks for team use, which is critical to maintaining consistency
- Responsible for document management and version control using tools such as Confluence, SharePoint and other online tools
- Adapt writing tone, style and complexity based on the target audience
- Ensure compliance and standards adherence with customer format requirements of documents and images
- Work closely with product managers, developers, QA teams and support teams to align documentation with product updates
- Advise the executive level program management team on effective technical writing techniques that increase effectiveness in customer communication
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with writing emphasis or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of related work experience
- Strong writing, researching, and creating content
- Ability to understand and explain complex technical
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with markup languages (e.g., HTML, XML)
- Familiarity with documentation tools (e.g., MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker)
