About the role

  • Serve on the VDI team for the Dept. of the Air Force establishing processes, technology, and providing user support to allow EITaaS to provide Enterprise VDI solutions
  • Work with Team Lead to understand requirements, priorities, and objectives to ensure work supports larger capabilities and direction of overall solution
  • Participate in full life cycle activities including deployment and validation efforts and follow established processes and standards
  • Implement Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies based on Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Support continuous monitoring efforts to proactively resolve environmental and user issues
  • Support execution of PowerShell scripts and other deployment capabilities to automate Azure Virtual Desktop functionality and operations
  • Triage and work with team to resolve AVD user and system issues
  • Support Windows Zero Touch Implementation (ZTI) processes for AVD solutions
  • Support management and maintenance of Azure AVD resources and OS images; deploy monthly OS and application patches to existing AVD VMs
  • Troubleshoot AVD Azure issues/problems and provide remediation steps for resolution
  • Assist in monitoring AVD resources to ensure sufficient virtual resources are available for DAF users and adjust resources accordingly
  • Support identification, reporting, tracking and mitigation of risks/issues discovered

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
  • 8+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field may be substituted for 5 years of experience)
  • Current certification for Security+ or any of CISSP, CCNA, or CCNP
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be successfully in obtain to a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance and pass all relevant background checks for a security clearance
  • Active DoD clearance preferred but not required
  • Experience building Windows client systems
  • Experience with automated build processes preferred but not required
  • Ability to execute documented detailed technical processes
  • Strong Windows Operating System problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients
  • Experience with Windows Zero Touch Installation (ZTI) processes (desired)
  • Experience with STIG Windows security controls (desired)
  • Experience creating technical documentation (desired)
  • Experience creating, executing and troubleshooting PowerShell scripts (desired)
  • Experience with Azure compute and storage resources (desired)
  • Experience with managing Active Directory domain user and computer objects (desired)
  • Relevant Technical Certifications (e.g., VCP-VMC, MCSE, CCE-V, Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty Certification) (desired)
