Director, Category Management
CAA-QuébecDirecteur(trice) handling product category strategies for CAA-Québec to optimize sales and profitability. Collaborating internally and with partners to improve product offerings and meet business objectives.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develops and implements category and assortment strategies to optimize sales, margins and overall category performance.
- Analyzes sales, margins, market trends and category performance to identify opportunities to optimize assortments and improve profitability.
- Monitors and evaluates category performance, analyzes variances and recommends corrective actions.
- Leads the development and optimization of the online store in alignment with the organization’s digital transformation plan.
- Provides motivating leadership to teams during periods of transformation.
- Coaches and supports buyers in assortment management, new product introductions, range rationalization and product life-cycle management.
- Defines and optimizes pricing strategies to maximize margin and competitiveness.
- Collaborates with marketing teams to develop and execute effective promotional plans and advertising campaigns.
- Works with sales, IT, marketing and logistics teams to ensure optimal execution in-store and online (planograms, product training, sales tools).
- Produces and presents performance analyses to senior management and monitors budgets and financial results.
- Keeps abreast of market trends, innovations and best practices to maintain the competitiveness of the offering.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management or a related field.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in category management, merchandising, product development or marketing, preferably in a multi-site retail or consumer packaged goods environment.
- Minimum of five (5) years of team management experience, with a strong ability to engage and support teams through transformation and growth.
- Excellent understanding of go-to-market strategies, e-commerce and commercial performance drivers in-store and online.
- Excellent negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-changing environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written.
