About the role
- Researches and evaluates client system and storage infrastructure and architecture; draws conclusions; and develops recommendations in accord ance with engagement objectives
- Identifies and resolves project issues with clients
- Supports sales team with proposal responses, SOW preparation, pre sales efforts
- Ensures installation/implementation of server, storage and software solutions
- Implements solutions and manages large-scale, mission-critical storage environments
- Delivers briefings, status reports, presentations, and milestone deliverables to clients and prospects
- Promotes and practices teamwork within and with client project personnel
- Imposes the highest practical level of quality in all assignments
- Identifies, and communicates to the client, the value inherent in work being performed and the importance of each deliverable
- Identifies client prospects, and engagement opportunities within those projects
- Works with Sales personnel, the Practice Managers, and Management to pursue opportunities
- Writes proposal components or letters of understanding, as needed, to respond to RFPs and other marketing situations
- Works with the Practice Managers and Management to develop and/or adopt specific techniques for addressing client needs in an assigned area
- Cultivates strong client relationships, which lead to further work with existing clients
- Maintains a current understanding of relevant technical issues through self-training, reading, hands-on experience, coursework, and attendance at briefings and conferences for the highest level of intellectual understanding of Best Practices
- Maintains relationships with vendor personnel at appropriate levels as a resource for obtaining correct and current information about products, strategies, and approaches
- Cultivates relationships with partners, suppliers in order to develop and share understanding of technology roadmaps within C1S
- Converts detailed understanding of products and services into C1 Solution’s, which are valuable to clients, in a specified area of IBM’s Power technology
Requirements
- 8 to 10 years of Data Center and implementation experience
- Minimum 5 years previous supervisory experience
- Certified with IBMs technology (Power7, AIX, PowerHA, TSM)
- At least 5 years of experience with AIX
- At least 3 years of experience with PowerVM
- At least 3 years of experience with VMware or a competitive virtualization software solution
- Knowledge of Storage Area Networks and IBM branded storage (V7000, SVC, XIV, DS8K, DS5K)
- Knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SAN) utilizing ISCSI
- Detail oriented and willing to work as part of a team
- Customer service oriented to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction
- Strong troubleshooting, research and communications skills
- Ability to multitask on multiple clients' needs
