About the role

  • Partner with managers and non-exempt employees within In-Store/Retail pillars across the employee lifecycle including talent management, performance management, onboarding/offboarding, and employee relations
  • Ensure effective delivery of People Programs for ~350+ retail employees
  • Coach managers through employee situations and advise on performance management/progressive discipline best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional People Business Partners on talent needs and business-driven initiatives
  • Develop proposals and recommendations to resolve strategically important HR or business issues
  • Resolve personnel grievances, retain talent, and ensure compliance with employment regulations
  • Minimal overnight travel (<10%) for People Team summits and events

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of HR/People experience required, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Experience working with all classes of employees. Full time, part time, exempt, and non-exempt.
  • Strong understanding of employee relations with a history of supporting the employee experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Understanding of employment labor laws, across all states
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organization skills, strong attention to detail
  • Strong collaborator across teams and functions at all levels of the organization
  • Significant breadth of understanding of functional HR roles and responsibilities and impact on the business
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Retail HR experience (preferred)
  • Experience with California non-exempt employees (preferred)
  • Familiarity with HR systems and tools especially ADP Workforce Now (preferred)
  • Bilingual with fluency in English and Spanish - verbal and written (preferred)
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor laws (preferred)
