About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the day-to-day management and oversight of the Company's VASP and EMI operations in El Salvador.
- Execute the local business strategy in alignment with Group objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all regulated activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, licence conditions, and internal policies.
- Act as the primary representative of the Company with local regulators, financial institutions, banking partners, and external stakeholders.
- Oversee operational, compliance, financial, and risk management activities within the jurisdiction.
- Drive operational excellence, customer experience, and business growth initiatives.
- Establish and maintain effective governance, reporting, and escalation frameworks.
- Ensure sufficient resources, controls, and processes are in place to support the Company's licensed activities.
- Build, lead, and develop the local management team and foster a strong culture of accountability and compliance.
- Provide regular reporting and updates to Group leadership and governance committees.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Law, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience within financial services, banking, payments, fintech, or digital asset industries.
- Prior experience in a senior management, country leadership, or executive role.
- Strong understanding of the El Salvador financial services, payments, and virtual asset regulatory landscape.
- Established relationships within the local financial services ecosystem, including regulators, financial institutions, and industry stakeholders, are highly desirable.
- Strong commercial, operational, and leadership capabilities.
- Must be a citizen of El Salvador and maintain primary residence in El Salvador, available to perform the role locally on a full-time basis.
- Fluency in Spanish and English.
