Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for restaurant technology solutions, including accounting software, payroll software, and inventory control management software
Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing across web, mobile, and hardware environments to ensure seamless operations in high-volume restaurant settings.
Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and restaurant operations teams to understand requirements, identify edge cases, and advocate for quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking tools, and work with engineering teams to prioritize and resolve issues before production release.
Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to improve testing efficiency and enable continuous integration and deployment practices.
Conduct testing in simulated restaurant environments to validate real-world scenarios such as peak ordering times, payment processing, and order routing workflows.
Participate in user acceptance testing with restaurant clients and gather feedback to inform product improvements and ensure solutions meet operational needs.
Monitor production systems and analyze customer-reported issues to identify patterns, root causes, and opportunities for proactive quality improvements.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
3+ years of experience in software quality assurance, preferably in hospitality, retail, or restaurant technology environments
Proficiency in manual and automated testing methodologies, with hands-on experience using testing frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Appium
Strong understanding of web and mobile application testing across multiple platforms (iOS, Android, web browsers)
Experience with API testing tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar
Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, or Azure DevOps
Knowledge of SQL and ability to validate data integrity across databases
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like Git
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple testing priorities simultaneously
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and document findings clearly
Relevant certifications such as ISTQB or similar QA certifications are a plus
