About the role

  • Responsible for supplier and procurement management of defined commodity groups and capital projects (including auxiliary and operating materials, machinery, construction, services, production materials)
  • Identifying cost optimization potential within commodity groups and processes
  • Initiating and executing tenders as well as negotiating terms and contracts
  • Evaluating and developing existing supplier partnerships and co-responsible for establishing new ones
  • Representing purchasing interests in cross-functional teams
  • Regular business travel to BUTTING sites in Germany and to business partners domestically and across Europe

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant field and/or commercial or technical vocational training with further professional development
  • Professional experience in strategic purchasing or project procurement
  • Experience in negotiations and in implementing procurement strategies
  • Strong negotiation skills and assertiveness, resilience and flexibility
  • Cross-functional thinking and an understanding of complex processes
  • Strong communication skills (internal and external)
  • Commercial and strategic mindset
  • Confident use of IT applications
  • Experience with SAP advantageous
  • Excellent written and spoken German
  • Good English skills
