About the role
- Oversee and manage multiple project backlogs, ensuring prioritization, alignment, and timely progression of projects
- Take in project requests from various departments, assessing their impact on current backlogs and timelines
- Ensure that all teams are fully informed about backlog status, priorities, and the scope of current and incoming projects
- Handle a continuous flow of requests, balancing new demands with existing backlogged work and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders
- Manage regular PM ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and ensure smooth team operations
- Maintain operational workflow and communication between technical and business teams to ensure alignment on goals and priorities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support Data Governance initiatives, including defining, maintaining, and effectively communicating metrics definitions to ensure consistency and clarity across organizational reporting and analytics
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in technical project management, ideally with a focus on technical projects
- 5+ years of experience (mentioned earlier in overview) — manage and oversee project backlogs, sprint planning, and cross-functional collaboration
- Direct experience in both small and large tech/software companies
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Proficiency with JIRA for managing backlogs and tracking project status
- Strong background in Agile methodologies, with experience running sprints and overseeing Agile workflows
- Familiarity with SQL or Python is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to juggle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and keep teams on track
- Ability to manage a steady stream of requests and pivot as priorities change
- Skilled in building rapport across departments to facilitate smooth project operations
