About the role
- Senior Commercial Counsel - Contracts & Compliance serves as a key legal advisor to the organization, with primary responsibility for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts.
- The position requires a strong foundation in contract law, the ability to manage complex legal matters independently, and the judgment to partner effectively with business leaders to mitigate risk while enabling growth.
- The Senior Commercial Counsel works closely with executive management in implementing all functions necessary for maintaining the company’s compliance status.
Requirements
- Ability to work in the San Francisco office 1-3 days a week.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, and current member in good standing with a US state bar.
- 7+ years of experience in corporate and/or commercial law.
- 10+ years of experience as a practicing lawyer.
- Familiarity with employment law is a plus.
- Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements in a business environment.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks, applicable regulations, and risk management strategies.
- Excellent judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Working knowledge of Office, JIRA and contract management systems.
- High level of professional ethics, integrity, and discretion.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
