About the role
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle from receipt of invoices to payment, including coding invoices, obtaining approval, and entering the invoices into the accounting system.
- Prepare daily deposits and batch check runs.
- Ensure all accounts payable policies and procedures are adhered to, including vendor approval and invoice processing.
- Perform reconciliation of vendor statements to ensure accurate payment.
- Maintain vendor files for documentation and audit purposes.
- Correspond with vendors regarding payment questions, terms, account set-up, etc.
- Serve as subject matter expert in Workday for all accounts payable processes.
- Assist team with gathering support for all audits, including pulling documentation.
- Assist in ad hoc projects as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- 3+ years of experience in accounting is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of finance, accounting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Basic understanding of financial and accounting software applications.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
- Capable of scrutinizing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Ability to work with information in a confidential manner.
- Ability to multitask and support senior accounting staff.
