About the role
- Development of energy supply concepts
- Development of holistic and sustainable energy concepts for neighborhoods, industrial sites, districts and entire regions
- Systems thinking and assessment of variants to identify the most economically, ecologically and socially sensible energy supply option for neighborhoods
- Planning of energy systems from concept through design phase 4 (LP 4)
- Techno-economic design
- Conducting economic feasibility and profitability calculations
- Opportunity to develop and evaluate business and operator models in the context of the German electricity and heat markets
- Project management
- Work as part of subproject leadership with the prospect of taking on independent project management
- Business development
- Opportunity to expand the service offering of our Energy Consulting team as part of our Cities Consulting team and to grow it at one of our German offices in the medium to long term
- Client support and project coordination
Requirements
- Completed degree, preferably in Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy Systems, Process Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Experience in the design and specification of energy supply systems for neighborhoods and cities
- Proven knowledge and experience in planning and implementing renewable energy systems, heat pumps, district heating and power generation
- Experience in modeling and simulation of technical systems
- Knowledge of funding and regulatory frameworks in Germany
- Experience and understanding of building-integrated and user-dependent energy systems, energy efficiency standards, greenhouse gas emissions calculations and the relevant legal frameworks
- Experience with simulation software as well as planning software and MS Office
- Experience with district heating network planning software, GIS and MS Project is desirable
- Very good proficiency in German and English
