About the role
- Development of energy supply concepts
- Development of holistic and sustainable energy concepts for neighborhoods, industrial sites, districts and entire regions
- Systems thinking and variant analysis to determine the most economically, ecologically and socially viable energy supply option for neighborhoods
- Planning of energy systems from conceptual design through to design phase 4 (LP 4)
- Techno-economic design
- Performing profitability and feasibility calculations
- Opportunity to develop and evaluate business and operator models in the context of the German electricity and heat markets
- Project management
- Work as part of sub-project leadership with the prospect of independent project management
- Business development
- Opportunity to expand and further develop the range of services of our Energy Consulting team as part of our Cities Consulting team at one of our German locations in the medium to long term
- Support of clients and project supervision
Requirements
- Completed degree, preferably in energy engineering, renewable energy systems, process engineering, building services engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or related fields
- Experience in designing energy supply systems for neighborhoods and cities
- Proven knowledge and experience in planning and implementing renewable energy systems, heat pumps, district heating and power generators
- Experience in modeling and simulation of technical systems
- Knowledge of subsidy and funding framework conditions in Germany
- Experience and understanding of building-integrated and usage-dependent energy systems, standards for energy efficiency, greenhouse gas emissions calculations and legal/regulatory frameworks
- Experience with simulation software as well as planning software and MS Office
- Experience with heating network planning software, GIS and MS Project is desirable
- Very good German and English language skills
