About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Shape BURGA's regulatory and legal strategy across all markets
- Advise the C-suite and cross-functional teams with commercially sound legal guidance
- Help define the structure and processes of the legal function as the company scales internationally
- Manage the IP portfolio, including registration, maintenance, and enforcement of trademarks, designs, and other rights
- Monitor regulatory developments across the EU and other jurisdictions
- Independently draft and negotiate commercial contracts, including influencer, service, NDA, manufacturing, construction, and B2B agreements
- Advise on consumer protection, e-commerce, and international trade matters
- Build legal templates, playbooks, and processes for the wider business
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of strategic legal/compliance experience in e-commerce, retail, consumer goods, or tech, in-house or law firm
- Track record of independently managing complex, multi-jurisdictional matters in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Experience working with a Customer Service function, including complaints and dispute resolution
- Strong knowledge of EU consumer protection and e-commerce law, and international trade law
- Solid grounding in contract, commercial, and corporate/company law
- Strong working knowledge of IP law, including trademark registration nationally, at EU level, and via the Madrid Protocol, design rights, and copyright
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Commercial mindset
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and stakeholder management abilities
- Proficiency in Office 365, legal research, and AI tools
