About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Act as the technical authority for the team, driving best practices and ensuring high-quality service delivery
Provide leadership and mentorship to team members
Build effective relationships with stakeholders across the business
Work closely with service delivery colleagues to enhance client relationships
Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the team

Requirements

What you’ll need

Act as the highest technical escalation point within a managed service function
Set and maintain engineering standards across teams within the service
Lead the management and resolution of complex L2/L3 incidents
Lead root cause analysis and post-incident investigations for major incidents
Own service onboarding from a technical readiness perspective
Participate in an on-call rota, including out-of-hours incident response
Mentor and support the development of engineers at all experience levels
Work with service delivery colleagues to manage client relationships
**Must-Have Skills & Experience**
Knowledge of at least one of the following: Java, Python, Node.js, or C#
Hands-on cloud architecture experience with either AWS or Azure
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
Understanding of ITIL practices
Recent experience leading engineering teams
**Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience**
Knowledge of highly available architectures
Experience with Postgres or other relational database systems
Exposure to front-end technologies such as React.js
Experience working in public sector or regulated data environments
