About the role

  • Research and evaluate new AWS services, features, and patterns to support evolving platform needs
  • Work with senior non-technical stakeholders as well as technical stakeholders
  • Develop proof-of-concepts and lightweight prototypes to validate infrastructure approaches
  • Design and test scalable, secure cloud solutions, contributing to reference architectures and templates
  • Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and security teams to understand use cases and shape platform capabilities
  • Build reusable infrastructure components using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities in the platform through testing and exploration
  • Create documentation and knowledge-sharing resources to guide future adoption and implementation
  • Contract role (initial 3 months) Inside IR35; fully remote

Requirements

  • Solid hands-on experience with AWS core services (e.g., VPC, IAM, EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, CloudWatch)
  • Strong curiosity around emerging cloud technologies and the ability to quickly ramp up on new services
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation) and CI/CD workflows
  • Proficient in scripting or automation (e.g., Python, Bash)
  • A thoughtful, test-and-learn approach to infrastructure — not afraid to try, fail, and iterate
  • Good understanding of cloud security principles and cost optimization
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills; comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Experience running experiments or POCs for infrastructure or platform tools (nice to have)
  • Exposure to Kubernetes (EKS) and container-based platforms (nice to have)
  • Familiarity with platform engineering principles (e.g., golden paths, self-service tooling) (nice to have)
  • Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus) (nice to have)
  • AWS certifications are a plus but not required
