About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the M&O Manager in supervising operational activities related to Statutory Classification/Certification and System Certification
- Provide operational technical support to MOCs, RSCs and units within the M&O area, ensuring compliance with Bureau Veritas standards
- Assign or directly conduct internal audits of entities under the responsibility of SSQMs, CSQMs, SSOMs, MOCs and RSCs
- Ensure quality control of MOCs, RSCs and SSQMs within the M&O area, ensuring adherence to classification standards
- Analyze internal and external complaints and claims; evaluate client satisfaction with services delivered by Bureau Veritas M&O
- Coordinate activities between different operational entities and contribute to continuous process improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree from a Merchant Navy Officer school, a degree in naval architecture and marine systems engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the maritime industry (shipowner, classification society, shipyard, etc.)
- Field experience as a surveyor (NS, MOC, etc.) highly appreciated
- Thorough knowledge of statutory regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, etc.)
- Rigor, autonomy and initiative
- Strong team spirit and ability to lead and facilitate
- Excellent analytical and synthesis skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability in a multicultural environment
- Fluent English (spoken and written) required to interact with international teams and clients
- Proficiency in office software and information systems
- Strong written communication skills
