Fire Life & Safety Assessor

About the role

- Collect detailed asset data collection and performs condition assessment observations of client site FLS systems, equipment, and components
- Perform functional testing and verification of Fire Life Safety systems
- Conduct performance testing of medium-to-heavy electrical systems
- Execute acceptance testing, load testing, and system integration testing
- Utilize specialized testing equipment to diagnose and document system performance
- Maintain thorough documentation of test results, non-conformance issues, and resolution tracking
- Conduct technical validation and auditing of major material handling conveyance equipment
- Support commissioning and re-commissioning of MEP systems in new construction, retrofit, and mission-critical environments
- Prepare detailed testing protocols, procedures, and reports
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED required; trade school, technical college, or vocational school preferred
- Fire Science related degree highly preferred
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Fire Life Safety systems, mechanical/electrical infrastructure, or commissioning in commercial, institutional, or industrial facilities
- Field experience in acceptance and integrated systems testing of critical systems such as switchgear, ATS, UPS, emergency generators, and MHE
- NICET certification (any level I through V) in Fire Alarm Systems (FAS), Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems (ITFAS), or certification in Electrical Power Testing highly preferred
- Working knowledge of building automation systems (BAS), including their interaction with FLS and MEP systems
- Journeyman credentials in mechanical or electrical disciplines are a plus
