About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure equal opportunity in employment for all candidates
  • Conduct detailed asset data collection and condition assessments of client site FLS systems, equipment, and components
  • Perform functional testing and verification of Fire Life Safety systems
  • Conduct performance testing of electrical systems such as panelboards and emergency generators
  • Execute acceptance testing and load testing of electrical infrastructure
  • Maintain documentation of test results and resolution tracking
  • Provide technical validation and auditing of equipment
  • Prepare detailed testing protocols and reports
  • Interface with contractors and clients during testing

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school, technical college, or vocational school preferred
  • Fire Science related degree highly preferred
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Fire Life Safety systems, mechanical/electrical infrastructure, or commissioning in commercial, institutional, or industrial facilities
  • Field experience in acceptance and integrated systems testing of critical systems such as switchgear, ATS, UPS, emergency generators, and MHE
  • NICET certification (any level I through V) in Fire Alarm Systems (FAS), Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems (ITFAS), or certification in Electrical Power Testing highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of building automation systems (BAS)
  • Journeyman credentials in mechanical or electrical disciplines are a plus
  • Personal mobile phone and supply your own internet service
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
