Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Fire Science, Architecture, or related field (Preferred)
Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience
Minimum 2 years in plan checking, permit technician, or building inspection
Experience as firefighter or in related code enforcement field
Valid California Driver's License
Proficiency in project management
Strong understanding of NFPA 1031 Standards
California State Fire Marshal (CSFM) Fire Inspector I Certification (must obtain within specified period)
ICC Fire Inspector I Certification (Preferred)
