About the role

  • Verification of P&IDs, instrument index, I/O lists, loop diagrams, hookup drawings, and control philosophy to ensure readiness for testing.
  • Verify receipt and conformity of instruments, tubing, fittings, junction boxes, control panels, and cables as per data sheets and specifications.
  • Supervise correct installation of transmitters, control valves, analyzers, switches, and associated tubing and cabling in accordance with drawings and standards.
  • Ensure continuity and insulation resistance testing of instrument cables and signal lines before energization.
  • Preparation and perform loop tests.
  • Functional test for all systems UPS/FGS/PLC/control logics.
  • Oversee calibration and bench testing of instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level transmitters, etc.) prior to field installation.
  • Verify control system (DCS/PLC/ESD) hardware installation, grounding, power supply, and marshalling terminations.
  • Stroke test.
  • Identify, log, and follow up on punch items related to instrumentation and control systems during pre-commissioning/commissioning inspections.
  • Perform SAT verification with vendor.
  • Maintain calibration certificates, loop check records, and test reports for turnover packages.
  • Conduct functional tests for control valves, shutdown valves, transmitters, and alarm/interlock systems as per logic diagrams.
  • Participate in cause and effect testing for ESD systems, fire & gas systems, and compressor protection logic.
  • Verify compressor control panel logic, speed control, surge protection, and interlocks with field instruments.
  • Check and commission instrument air compressors, dryers, filters, and air distribution lines for proper operation.
  • Verify integration between DCS, ESD, and vibration monitoring systems; ensure all signals are correctly mapped.
  • Support process and mechanical teams during compressor performance and reliability run tests, ensuring instrumentation accuracy.
  • Liaise with vendor specialists for equipment testing (compressor control panels, analyzer systems, etc.) and client for witnessing tests.
  • System start-up and line up.
  • Troubleshooting the instruments during PCC & start-up.
  • During PCC & startup coordinate with DCS and perform field activities.

Requirements

  • Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation / Control
  • Diploma-10–15 years in oil & gas projects; Bachelor’s Degree -8-15 years in oil & gas projects
  • Overseas experience: Yes (Bahrain is preferred)
  • Loop checking, function test, calibration, analyzers, control valves, C&E testing.
