About the role

  • Project Leadership & Oversight
  • Serve as the primary on-site engineering authority for assigned airport projects
  • Direct and coordinate resident engineering teams across multiple work streams
  • Manage daily construction/inspection activities aligned with project schedules and budgets
  • Ensure adherence to Bureau Veritas standards, methodologies, and quality protocols
  • Technical & Compliance Management
  • Conduct inspections and testing of airport infrastructure (runways, taxiways, terminals, hangars, systems)
  • Verify compliance with aviation regulations (FAA, ICAO, local authorities) and applicable standards (ASTM, ACI, IBC)
  • Review design documents, specifications, and construction methods for regulatory alignment
  • Document findings and prepare technical reports for stakeholders
  • Quality Assurance & Safety
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures on-site
  • Identify and escalate non-conformances with corrective action recommendations
  • Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA and project-specific safety requirements
  • Conduct site safety audits and incident investigations as needed
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as primary point of contact between Bureau Veritas, airport operators, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Communicate project status, findings, and recommendations clearly to diverse audiences
  • Facilitate coordination between multiple project teams and consultants
  • Manage client expectations and resolve technical disputes professionally
  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain comprehensive project records, inspection logs, and test data
  • Prepare progress reports, compliance certifications, and final project documentation
  • Ensure all records meet aviation industry documentation standards and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 10+ years of civil/structural engineering experience
  • 5+ years as resident engineer or on-site leadership role
  • 3+ years of airport infrastructure project experience
  • Strong knowledge of construction inspection, testing protocols, and quality assurance
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills
