About the role

  • Perform analyses on samples and complex sample preparation.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
  • Ensure that quality control criteria are met for all reported data.
  • Approve data generated (Level I validation - for which the analyst has been trained and validated).
  • Understand and troubleshoot analyses.
  • Provide input to corrective action procedures.
  • Ensure deadlines are met.
  • Adheres to Bureau Veritas Code of Ethics Policy.
  • Supports and complies with all Bureau Veritas policies, Quality System and Health & Safety program.
  • Ensure that instruments and equipment are appropriately maintained.
  • Use summary reports to plan and organize work.
  • Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations.
  • Keep their work area clean, neat and organized.
  • Contribute to daily and weekly planning.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor

Requirements

  • Minimum of a four year degree in Chemistry or Biology and zero to one year of experience in an analytical food testing laboratory.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good record keeping skills and attention to detail.
  • Delivers timely results and takes part in occasional project work.
  • Ability to accurately follow Standard operating Procedures (SOP’s) and instructions.
  • Dynamic, energetic, motivated, positive outlook, and a 'can-do' attitude.
