About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Participate in or undertake technical analysis, specification, estimation, design, development, implementation and support of software solutions
Work with business users, third parties and other IT colleagues
Act as the technical authority within the Salesforce domain
Provide application- or technology-specific guidance to business analysts, architects and designers
Impact assess and validate technical solutions, designs and proofs of concept
Sign off application solution designs
Develop application delivery design standards, development methodologies and strategic architecture frameworks
Contribute to and influence strategic software architecture decisions
Provide input to Infrastructure Design teams on overall solution design
Resolve IT-related problems within the domain affecting operational services or development
Maintain relationships with other IT teams and act as an IT ambassador within the business
Engage with technology groups outside the immediate team to influence solution decisions and outcomes
Mentor less experienced engineers and technicians
Manage third-party supplier resources in a matrix environment
Own the quality of software-related deliverables within the domain

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 3 years’ understanding and experience of the Salesforce Platform and Salesforce solution patterns
Deep understanding of out-of-the-box Salesforce features and solution components
Degree/Masters in Computer Science or equivalent education/work experience
5+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language, including Java and JavaScript
2+ years contributing to architecture and design of new and current systems
8+ years of professional software development experience/building production software systems
Experience building a product from concept through prototype and implementation
Experience with Agile methods
Knowledge of coding standards and source control techniques
Strong communication skills
Flexible attitude and ability to perform under pressure
Excellent test script and documentation skills
Experience in more than one service delivery function: development, support, software design or environment configuration
Broad technology knowledge or expertise in a single technology
Ability to translate business goals into technology solutions
Good team-player skills
Experience working in a matrix-managed environment with contractors and outsourced vendors
