About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the development of architectures for complex solutions, ensuring consistency with agreed requirements
  • Establish policies, principles and practices for selecting solution architecture components
  • Manage trade-offs among functional, service quality and systems management requirements
  • Communicate proposed decisions to stakeholders using technical and non-technical language
  • Provide organisational leadership and guidelines to promote specialist knowledge
  • Develop and drive adoption of organisational policies, standards, guidelines and methods for system design
  • Champion system design principles and selection of appropriate system design life-cycle models
  • Lead system design activities for strategic, large and complex systems development programmes
  • Develop effective implementation strategies consistent with requirements, architectures and performance and feasibility constraints
  • Develop system designs involving new technologies or new uses for existing technologies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Extensive experience in solution architecture, systems design or complex technology delivery in a healthcare environment
  • Proven leadership of large or complex solution architectures, often spanning multiple projects or programmes
  • Experience defining and governing end-to-end solution architectures for strategically significant initiatives
  • Experience providing authoritative solution architecture guidance to delivery teams and senior stakeholders
  • Experience leading feasibility assessments, architectural option analysis and business case input
  • Experience influencing design and investment decisions
  • Demonstrable equivalent professional experience gained through senior solution architecture roles
  • Ability to work 37.5 hours per week
