About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the development of architectures for complex solutions, ensuring consistency with agreed requirements
Establish policies, principles and practices for selecting solution architecture components
Manage trade-offs among functional, service quality and systems management requirements
Communicate proposed decisions to stakeholders using technical and non-technical language
Provide organisational leadership and guidelines to promote specialist knowledge
Develop and drive adoption of organisational policies, standards, guidelines and methods for system design
Champion system design principles and selection of appropriate system design life-cycle models
Lead system design activities for strategic, large and complex systems development programmes
Develop effective implementation strategies consistent with requirements, architectures and performance and feasibility constraints
Develop system designs involving new technologies or new uses for existing technologies

Requirements

What you’ll need

Extensive experience in solution architecture, systems design or complex technology delivery in a healthcare environment
Proven leadership of large or complex solution architectures, often spanning multiple projects or programmes
Experience defining and governing end-to-end solution architectures for strategically significant initiatives
Experience providing authoritative solution architecture guidance to delivery teams and senior stakeholders
Experience leading feasibility assessments, architectural option analysis and business case input
Experience influencing design and investment decisions
Demonstrable equivalent professional experience gained through senior solution architecture roles
Ability to work 37.5 hours per week
