About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the New Product Introduction (NPI) process from engineering handoff through production release
- Coordinate first article inspections with contract manufacturing partners
- Serve as the technical liaison between Product Development and suppliers during product launches
- Review engineering drawings and provide technical support on manufacturability questions
- Lead cross-functional launch activities with Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Transportation, Marketing, and Quality
- Create and maintain new product data, item masters, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the ERP system
- Coordinate product cost information, landed costs, and launch readiness across departments
- Support supplier qualification and production readiness activities
- Maintain standardized launch documentation, project timelines, and NPI processes
- Identify opportunities to improve launch efficiency and product commercialization processes
- Travel domestically and internationally as needed to support supplier and customer activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 3–7 years of experience in product development, manufacturing engineering, supply chain engineering, or New Product Introduction
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience working with contract manufacturers or supplier partners
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills with experience collaborating across cross-functional and global teams
- Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar
- Experience with BOM creation, product setup, and engineering change processes is preferred
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, supplier development, or product commercialization is highly desirable
- Willingness to travel approximately 5–10 times per year
