About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the ongoing daily operations, sales and high-volume stock management within the warehouse
  • Report directly to the Regional Manager
  • Lead and develop a team of 120+
  • Collaborate with Assistant Site Managers, Department Managers, Supervisors, Team Members and Forklift Drivers
  • Engage with local stores and Trade Centres to support the wider area group
  • Develop local strategies and business plans supporting long-term warehouse growth
  • Monitor and measure customer service levels
  • Liaise with Commercial Sales teams, Distribution Centres, Fulfilment Centres and Bunnings Support Office
  • Manage warehouse stock levels, sales capabilities, Health & Safety procedures, and products and services
  • Foster a high-performing leadership team through coaching, alignment and performance conversations
  • Build a culture of recognition, accountability and development
  • Support injury management, compliance and ongoing safety coaching
  • Hold accountability for warehouse EBIT performance, including sales growth, margin optimisation, wage control and cost management
  • Identify commercial opportunities and implement actions to drive sales and growth
  • Reduce shrink, deliver accurate stocktakes and maintain inventory integrity
  • Engage the local community and identify opportunities for community events and projects
  • Work a minimum 1-in-3 weekend roster and some public holidays

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be age 15 or over to apply
  • Strong track record leading large, diverse teams (100+) in fast-paced operations
  • Previous experience leading teams in the retail industry or a large, high-volume customer-focused organisation
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing leadership teams through coaching and accountability
  • Strong commitment to creating a Safe & Secure warehouse, including compliance and injury management and safety engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to own business EBIT, delivering sales growth, margin and cost control
  • Ability to identify and action opportunities that drive sales and business growth
  • Strong capability in reducing shrink, delivering accurate stocktakes and maintaining inventory integrity
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills
  • Ability to influence multiple stakeholders and understand KPIs and exceed customer expectations
  • Interest in the DIY/building industry recommended
  • Background checks may be required, including police, employment, medical and qualification checks
