About the role

  • Legal advice to strategic procurement, the procurement/tendering office and specialist departments, and drafting contracts for public tenders and all other procurement types
  • Independent substantive review and drafting of procurement contracts (in particular framework agreements, supply/purchase, service, works, maintenance, repair, and IT contracts) and legal support for matters in construction and planning law
  • Examination of procurement-related legal questions, in particular those arising under public procurement law as well as general contract and commercial law
  • Professional and organisational support to management in handling out-of-court disputes
  • Participation in the development and preparation of legal standards, template contracts and forms
  • Participation in digitalisation and transformation projects

Requirements

  • Degree in German law: Law (state examination) or Business Law (Master's degree)
  • Relevant professional experience with specialist knowledge in commercial and contract law and expertise in reviewing and drafting contracts in these areas
  • Knowledge of public procurement law and experience advising on EU-wide procurement procedures for public clients, as well as experience in construction and planning law (knowledge of HOAI and VOB desirable)
  • Ability to present complex legal issues in a target-oriented, structured and comprehensible manner, including in English
  • Independent, goal-oriented and reliable working style, advisory skills (German proficiency at least C1 level), assertiveness and team spirit
  • Confident use of modern media and data processing programs, e.g. MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
