About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Help design and build durable, reusable Marketplace platform services, including purchase orders, contract terms, invoicing rails, and workflow/status state machines
Build prototypes and MVPs for new marketplace products and validate ideas directly with customers
Support quality, craftsmanship, adoption, and usability improvements on launched products
Build and refine agent harnesses and AI/LLM-integrated workflows using document-extraction tooling and models such as Claude, Gemini, and OpenAI
Use internal evaluation tooling to test and improve shipped solutions
Participate in customer discovery conversations and synthesize findings for product and engineering leads
Partner with staff engineers on system design decisions
Mentor newer engineers as ownership grows
Identify and fix workflow friction within project scope
Ship meaningful work across platform primitives, new product prototypes, or live-product adoption improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Typically 4–7 years of experience in software engineering
Solid backend and distributed-systems fundamentals
Experience shipping a technical MVP or prototype from concept to a customer-testable state
Experience building with or integrating LLM providers such as Claude, Gemini, or OpenAI, or strong aptitude and interest in developing this capability
Comfort working across the stack as needed
Exposure to agent harnesses, RAG pipelines, or other AI/LLM-integrated workflows is a plus
Data engineering, ML, or document-processing background is a meaningful plus
Experience in financial services, construction, real estate, payments, lending, insurance, or complex B2B environments is a meaningful differentiator, though not required
Ability to work closely with product in a non-handoff model
Ability to travel to the Nashville office at least twice per year if not based in the Nashville area
