About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Verify the accuracy and completeness of loan files, including title reports, insurance, and trailing qualification documentation
Identify outstanding funding items and notify the appropriate parties
Prepare closing documents and coordinate with third parties to balance accurate settlement statements
Oversee timely preparation and delivery of closing documents
Review signed loan documents for accuracy, completeness, and required documentation before authorizing release of funds
Collaborate with Builders Capital’s Treasury team to confirm source of funds and request funding
Ensure loan proceeds are accurately and timely disbursed to escrow companies, borrowers, or third parties
Liaise with the lending institution, title companies, closing attorneys, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and streamline funding
Identify potential issues and escalate them to senior members or management
Create and maintain internal documents and reports related to loan funding
Maintain stakeholder relationships to support high-quality loan origination and efficient post-closing processes
Track and analyze KPIs related to post-closing and lock desk functions, recommending improvements
Contribute to the development and improvement of funding and post-closing procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field
0–2 years of experience in mortgage funding, loan processing, post-closing, lock desk management, capital markets, or a similar mortgage or real estate role
Ability to learn mortgage documents, DSCR loan structures, and closing procedures
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder relationships
Proficiency in mortgage software and Microsoft Office applications
Ability to analyze financial data and assess risk
Critical thinking skills to manage discrepancies or funding issues
Ability to adapt to evolving processes and contribute to continuous improvement
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
High integrity and commitment to confidentiality and regulatory compliance
Proactive mindset to identify and implement process improvements
