About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding, including offer letters, background checks, I-9 verification, orientation schedules, and benefits enrollment
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires
  • Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS system
  • Assist with annual open enrollment, benefit plan audits, benefits communications, qualifying life events, and COBRA administration
  • Respond to routine benefits and employee HR questions
  • Maintain personnel files and process transfers, promotions, compensation changes, supervisor changes, leaves, and separations
  • Prepare HR letters, employment confirmations, notices, reports, and employee documentation
  • Support HR audits, record retention, reporting, policies, notices, forms, and templates
  • Provide guidance on routine HR processes and escalate sensitive or complex employee relations matters to HR leadership
  • Support managers with documentation and employee communications concerning attendance, performance, conduct, and workplace expectations
  • Assist with employee separations and return-of-property follow-up
  • Ensure confidentiality of employee information and protect confidential employee data
  • Help ensure HR records and practices comply with federal, state, and local employment requirements
  • Serve as a backup resource for recruiting activities and contribute to HR initiatives and employee support programs
  • Work with HR, payroll, recruiting, managers, and employees

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
  • Approximately 2-5 years of general Human Resources experience preferred, with exposure to multiple HR functions
  • Experience supporting a multi-state, construction, field-based, or rapidly growing workforce is helpful but not required
  • Working knowledge of common HR practices, employee lifecycle processes, benefits administration, and employment documentation
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail when processing employee information and maintaining records
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a service-oriented approach to employee support
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and sound judgment
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with HR, payroll, recruiting, managers, and employees
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with ADP Workforce Now or another HRIS is preferred
  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a combination of in-office and remote work arrangement
