About the role
- Financial management of our acquisitions and buying events: You are responsible for recording, monitoring and paying for purchases and provide the accounting support for our buying events — in close coordination with the responsible team.
- Ongoing accounting & payments: Independently handle bank postings, accounts payable invoices and travel expenses, and manage the relevant payment flows.
- You also monitor and process the incoming invoice tools for the German and Polish entities.
- Reconciliations & controls: You ensure our general ledger accounts are properly reconciled, discrepancies are cleared and the financial data is reliable at all times.
- Month-end close: Responsible for loan and accruals/prepayments schedules and for preparing the relevant general ledger accounts for the month-end close.
- Year-end closing: Support finance-related year-end tasks and ensure smooth execution of all related processes.
- Accounts receivable & backup: Posting and reconciling marketplace revenues — primarily to cover colleagues during vacation periods and to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Tax filings: Responsible for VAT-related matters such as OSS quarterly filings, VAT pre-declarations and EC Sales Lists (Zusammenfassende Meldungen, ZM).
- Process improvement: You contribute proactively, analyze workflows and drive improvements — from small optimizations to automation opportunities.
Requirements
- Completed commercial vocational training, ideally with further qualification as a financial accountant or certified balance sheet accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter) (m/f/d)
- Very good DATEV skills — you are confident in the system and can work independently within it
- Excel is not a "nice to have" but a core working tool; ideally you also have an interest in working with Google Workspace and are willing to deepen your skills there
- Good knowledge of accounting under the German Commercial Code (HGB)
- Solid tax understanding with a focus on VAT (not highly complex tax issues, but confident routine handling of day-to-day matters)
- Structured, independent and conscientious working style
- You work in a solution-oriented way and think proactively
